Rekha Iyengar
Rekha Iyengar hails from cultural capital of Karnataka, Mysore. Trained in Carnatic Classical music under the guidance of Smt. Saraswathi and M K Saraswathi. Later pursued to learn Bhavageethe (Light Music) from Smt H R Leelavathi, Rajyotsava Awardee, Akashvani artist and Doordarshan artist. Also Rekha Iyengar is a “B High” graded artist of All India Radio, Mysore from 1997. Rekha has participated in “Makkala Mantapa Program” in 1987 organised by All India Radio, Mysore where she was one among 50 students who was selected for the program. From then, her passion towards music strengthened and started pursuing music and has given various programs till date.
In addition to her music Rekha Iyengar is a HR professional and currently working for a Software Company in Bangalore.
Rekha has formed a group by name “Naadamrutha” and has being giving music programs in and around Bangalore. She conducts online classes through skype and also one on one learning. In addition to her passion to Carnatic she is pursuing Veena classes under Bimba Raghavendra’s guidance.
Achievements
Participated in various music programs organised by Kannada Sahitya Sammelan, Kannada Samskrithika Ilakhe, at Kaiwara temple, Rotary Club of Bangalore, Bangalore etc.,
